Overview

You need to change the posting accounts from a balance sheet (BS) account into a Profit and Loss (P&L) account. You have changed the account identifier from the balance sheet account to the P&L account through the Identifier Maintenance screen. You are considering using the Reorganize & Reclassification function to make this change.

The Reorganize and Reclassify program in Computron's General Ledger module is intended to modify an account's number. In this case, the process to change an existing identifier and the associated accounts from P&L to BS or vice-versa is as follows:

1. In the Other Identifiers Maintenance program, switch the identifier's Account Type to Profit and Loss or Balance Sheet as required.

2. In the Change/Del/Verify Accounts program, verify the accounts for that identifier. This will make it so their type automatically changes to match their associated identifier. You can opt to print a Summary Report to verify that the process has taken place as required.
